Help to Buy off to 'Flying Start'

With questions having been raised regarding the suitability and structure of the government’s Help to Buy Housing Scheme recently we are pleased to note the recent comments of The Home Builders Federation on 6th June 2013.

The Help to Buy scheme allows proposed purchasers to place just a 5% deposit on their chosen property, subject to an equity loan for the remainder from the government.

Over 500 applications have been made each week to take advantage of the scheme since its inception, totalling approximately 4,000 reservations in just 2 months.

Such demand for the scheme will be a relief to many behind it, as it has been subject to criticism in media outlets as it is expected to inflate housing prices. 

Whilst there have been calls for the scheme not to be extended, you may wish to make the most of it now.
